Zoom Meeting Times Appearing Incorrect

If you are a student in a Live Online class and your Zoom class meetings are showing a time that is different than the one on your class schedule, it is likely because the time zone on your Soom account OR the time zone on your device is set incorrectly.

To fix this issue, you will want to ensure your time zone is set correctly in both places.

Step 1

First, check your time zone on Zoom. You can do that by following these directions:

  1. Go to http://rcsj-edu.zoom.us and sign in using your RCSJ username and password.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Profile.
  3. Under Personal, to the right of Time Zone, click Edit.
  4. Click the dropdown menu to select a different time zone.
  5. Click Save.

Step 2

Next, check your time zone on your computer.

Windows 10 Users

  1. Click the Windows flag on your desktop (bottom left)

  2. Click Settings (gear icon)

  3. Click on Time & Language
  4. Click on Date & Time
  5. Turn off the "Set Time Zone Automatically" toggle switch (if applicable).
  6. Use the "Time Zone" drop down menu and select the correct zone setting.
Quick tip: If you live in a region that uses daylight saving, make sure to turn on the "Adjust for daylight saving time automatically" toggle switch.

Mac Users

  1. Choose the Apple menu at the top of your screen (click the apple icon), then click System Preferences >> Date & Time.

  2. Click the lock icon in the corner of the window, then enter your administrator password to unlock the settings. (The settings are dimmed when locked.)

  3. In the Time Zone pane, make sure that "Set time zone automatically using current location" is selected and your Mac is connected to the internet.
