Geo-Blocking of RCSJ Services

Summary

RCSJ has implemented geo-blocking for services to strengthen our cybersecurity posture. These restrictions generally align with regions identified as higher risk and may affect access both while traveling and from campus networks.

Body

To protect the RCSJ’s digital infrastructure and align with global risk considerations, RCSJ has implemented geo-blocking for certain services. This decision is based on cybersecurity threat intelligence and generally aligns with regions identified by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as higher risk.

As a result:

  • Users in these regions may not be able to access services.
  • Users attempting to access services in these regions from our campus networks may experience limited or blocked access.

The list of geo-blocked regions is reviewed and updated periodically based on evolving threat intelligence and risk assessments. Please refer to the list below for the most current information on affected regions.
