Summary
Compatibility issue between Smart's "SMARTINK-Excel-All" plugin and E learning's Grade book exporting.
Generally only effects classroom computers that utilize smart software.

Instructors are able to export their class grade book in e-learning. The grade book is exported in .XLS format (1997-2003). If the instructor tries to open the spreadsheet in a classroom that uses Smart Software, Excel will hang indefinitely due to a conflict issue. There is a plug-in enabled by default in Excel, SMARTINK-EXCEL-ALL, that if disabled resolves the issue.
Here is how to do so:
1) Open Excel and access the options by clicking "open other workbooks" and then clicking options.
2) From the Options Menu, click Add-ins on the left hand side, then select COM Add-Ins on the "Manage" drop down menu and then click go.
3) Uncheck SMARTInk-Excel-All
