Creating a Course Content File (Both Campuses)

Summary

Step-by-step instructions for creating a Course Content File of an eLearning course.

Body

Both Campuses

A course content file downloads copies of all (or selected) course files, such as PDFs, Word docs, and other media. Course content files allow instructors to access all of the course files from outside of eLearning.

How to create a Course Content File from an eLearning Course

  1. First, navigate into the course you'd like to create the export file for.

  2. On the course menu to the left, under Control Panel, choose Files and then click on your Course ID (the topmost option).

  3. On the Course Content page you will see a list of the files in your course. Scroll to the bottom of the page and choose the Show All button. This ensures all of your files are listed on a single page so all of the files can be selected at once.

  4. Once all of your files are listed on one page, click the small box near the top of the list of files, beside the "File Type" heading. This will select all of your course files. If you don't want to download all of the files, feel free to put checkmarks in the boxes next to the files you do want to include, or use the Select All option and then deselect any files you don't want to include.

  5. Next, click on the Download Package button at the top of the page. It's just above the Select All box.

    • Be patient after clicking the Download Package button. It can take quite a few minutes for the request to process. The larger the course files, the longer this will take. You will know the page is processing your request by the spinning circle at the top of your browser and/or by the "Waiting..." message in the status bar at the bottom of your browser.

  6. Eventually the package will download itself. If you're using Chrome, you'll see the .zip file downloading in your Downloads Bar at the bottom of your browser.

    • Once the file is finished downloading, you will be able to find it in your Downloads folder. We suggest you move the file to a location that makes it easier to find the file in the future. (Suggestion: consider saving the file to your RCSJ Microsoft OneDrive account.)

Note: Just double click on the .zip file to open it and gain access to all of your course files.
